In meinem tiefsten Inneren ist eine überlieferte Leitlinie verankert, welche ich seit meiner Geburt streng und diszipliniert verfolge: Photographen werden nicht gerne photographiert. Schließlich haben wir uns ganz bewusst für den Raum hinter der Kamera entschieden. Selbstporträts sind freilich ausgenommen! Über Jahre, Jahrzehnte gelang es mir recht erfolgreich, nicht photographiert zu werden.

Als sturer Westfale weiß ich nur allzu genau welche Bedeutung es hat, mit Gewohnheiten zu brechen. Und dann kam Alex. Alex Schwander. Ein herzensguter Mensch und BFF Kollege. Als er auf mich zukam, konnte ich gar nicht „Nein“ sagen, bei seinem Projekt „Kollegen-Portraits“ mitzumachen. Ganz im Gegenteil: Es ist mir eine Ehre und große Freude, ein Teil dieser einfühlsamen Arbeit zu sein.

In the depths of me there is a traditional guideline anchored which I have followed strictly and disciplined since my birth: Photographers do not like to be photographed. After all, we made a conscious decision to use the space behind the camera. Self-portraits are of course excluded! For years and decades I managed quite successfully not to be photographed.

As a stubborn Westphalian, I know all too well what it means to break with habits. And then came Alex. Alex Schwander. A good-hearted person and a BFF colleague. When he came up to me, I couldn’t say „No“ to taking part in his „Colleague Portraits“ project. On the contrary: It is an honor and a great pleasure for me to be part of this sensitive work.
