EIN BUCHPROJEKT ???

Intuitiv begann ich in meiner Jugend, mich selbst zu photographieren. Einfach so. Aus einer Lust und Laune heraus. Ohne einen thematischen Bezug und ohne konzeptionellen Entwurf. Hab`s einfach gemacht. Nach einigen Jahren stellte ich fest, welche sehr persönliche Geschichte dabei entstanden ist. Lange aber wußte ich nicht, wo es hinführen sollte. Es gab ja auch keinen Plan und kein erklärtes Ziel. Die Selbstportraits waren sich selbst genug.

Plötzlich und unerwartet landete Anfang 2020 eine Email in meinem Postfach. Die Lektorin eines Verlags eröffnete mir darin ein kommendes Buchprojekt über „Das Selbstportrait“. Ob ich mir denn vorstellen könnte, mitzumachen und einer von vier Autor*innen zu sein, fragte sie mich.

Jetzt kann ich sagen: Im Mai 2021 wird dieses tolle Buch endlich erscheinen. Es war eine ziemlich schöne Herausforderung. Als Photograph ist das Schreiben keine Leichtigkeit, aber ich bin davon überzeugt, daß es mir ganz gut gelungen ist.

Ich freue mich sehr auf die Veröffentlichung! Noch ist vieles geheim, aber schon bald darf ich mehr darüber erzählen.

In my youth I intuitively began to take photos of myself. Just because. On a whim. Without a thematic reference and without a conceptual draft. Just did it. After a few years, I realized what a very personal story it created. But for a long time I didn’t know where it was going. After all, there was no plan and no stated goal. The self-portraits were enough of themselves.

Suddenly and unexpectedly, an email landed in my mailbox at the beginning of 2020. The editor of a publishing house told me about an upcoming book project on „The Self-Portrait“. She asked me if I could imagine participating and being one of four authors.

Now I can say: This great book will finally be published in May 2021. It was quite a challenge. As a photographer, writing is not easy, but I am convinced that I have succeeded quite well.

I’m really looking forward to the release! A lot is still secret, but I’ll soon be able to tell you more about it.
